To walk the places You walked, is ,the call.
It requires the qualities You possess.
For pride cannot enter the narrow gate, nor self-seeking, vainity, strife and envy.

These are not the qualities of some other soul. These are the hauntings of my own heart. Imbedded within my very nature.

But, You, O Resurrection and Life, said;"It is this fallen nature I came to redeem!"
Truth cannot set me free - until I see the fallen nature of mankind within myself ~

This is a story about a wilderness and the appointed time that could not be relized.
an announcement - of an exodus - but we shall see about that.

Love blazes here - like a fire
Refining with heat and desire
Consuming all that is'nt pure
The sand, The wind, The wounded girl

" I will go with You into the wilderness, right away from the promise, If you really wish it..."

My souls desire is to recieve the promise. For in the pain of my unregenerated self, I cry -
"Jesus, what do You do with ones like me?
 Plagued with double-mindedness and instability.

~Trusting the process~

"....O no!" she cried, "This path does not lead the way I need to go...It contradicts the promise, you gave me...."

" No," said the Shepherd," It is not contradiction, only postponement for the best to become possible.."

She said incredulously," You really mean that i am to follow that path - down into a wilderness and desert...away from the mountains of promise, indefinitely?"

Quietly the Shepherd spoke,
"Do you love Me enough to accept postponement and apparent contradiction...and follow Me into the desert?"

There she built her first altar on a little pile of rocks, and then she laid down her trembling rebel will. A spurt of flame came and left was a little stone. She picked it up and took it with her.
" I must tell you a great truth, which only a few understand.
All the fairest beauties in the human soul, It's greatest victories and most splendid achievements -
Are always those which no one else knows anything about, or can only dimly guess."
....All of my servants have had to make this detour..to  learned things which otherwise they would have not known.
It is a great privilege, and if you will, you may also learn the lessons of the furnace and the desert just as surely as those before you..."

[exerpt from hinds feet on high places]
